Volunteer Overview

In Siem Reap you will be involved in building and infrastructure projects. We will build new houses and/or make major repairs to the homes of the poorest and most disadvantaged villagers.

Sometimes we construct new classrooms or improve the village school's sporting facilities. Nothing too large and always with the assistance of local tradespeople, but you need to be willing to pitch in and help whenever required.

By spending two weeks working side by side with the local villagers, you will gain a real sense of the importance of your work and make a substantial difference in the living conditions of the families you'll be working with. Some homes are so damaged by monsoonal rains they have to be rebuilt from the foundations up. Others are in desperate need of new roofs or walls. The families will work alongside to assist you with the work on their homes. Their gratitude is very real and humbling.

There will also be lots of time spent interacting with the children at the local village school who will want to teach you to dance, play games and practice their English with you.

After spending 14 days in Siem Reap, you have the option to extend your time in Asia through further volunteering opportunities such as, a 7 day extension at the elephant refuge, a 14 day Cambodian Village and Elephant Refuge Program or a 14 day extension on the Cambodian Islands or in Laos.

Volunteer abroad for longer by adding an extension

The Cambodia Village Immersion program lasts 15 days, but it doesn't have to end there... Adding an extension means you will be able to stay longer and achieve more, or enjoy another program, for much less than the cost of buying two separate programs.

Depending on the extension you choose, you can save around $500 / £325.
