goodbyes and continued journeys

Today is our last day on the south Africa program. Although I am lucky enough to have 8 people staying on with me to Mozambique, we did have two people leaving us today: Cindy, who has been with me this last 3 weeks, and Corkie, who only joined the group this last week. They both…

elephants in the dark

Wow! What an amazing day we had yesterday. It started out much the same as the other days with the morning being hot and only getting hotter. The problem with the heat is twofold, one the animals don’t want to come out, and two the volunteers can’t come out in the middle of the day….

Hello fellow bloggers. Today was a day of relaxation. After all the hard work we were going off to Cape Vidal, on this adventure we passed through iSimangaliso on a game drive. We got to see some really close up views of different antolopes and even spied a elephant and a family of white rhinos…

Last full work day at the crèche!!!!

Today was our last full work day at the crèche!!!! It has been terribly sad, we really want to stay on and keep working! We have had such an amazing time building and playing with the kids – is there a way we could do this forever?! We finished more bricks, finished the concrete walkway,…
