About the program
Our South African volunteers have just completed a new childcare center for over 100 children including AIDs orphans.
They built a classroom and supplied it with chairs, tables and blackboards, they installed new toilets, a clean water facility, jungle gym and an undercover outside play area. They took the children to the medical clinic and we paid for worming tablets for all of them. Our current programs are all undertaking similar community projects, at new locations.
In the second week Reach Out Volunteers are taught the basics of telemetry tracking of endangered species on a Big 5 game reserve and participate in the actual tracking and monitoring of the animals as well as finding and removing poachers’ snares.
For more information about this program, see the ROV website here.
