What a beautiful day we had off! It was a public holiday here in South Africa, and everyone was out celebrating the day, and the hot weather too. We decided to head out on a hike down to the beach and it was a nice walk. We found some cool plant species and even a fig tree with a bushbuck grazing underneath it. We arrived down to the beach and the weather had started getting quite hot, but the ocean was so nice to dip our toes in.
We got back just in time for lunch! And then it was time to head out to experience a Zulu village and culture. This experience was so much fun! We learnt how the warriors would protect their village, and how they made their houses and all their crafts and utensils. We even got to dress in traditional Zulu attire and dance with them.
It was such a fun day, and we had a braai night to finish the day off before getting an early night sleep to start our big week of construction.
