Hippos, Crocs, and Docks

Howdy from St. Lucia, South Africa! This morning we all packed up our bags and headed off to the small little town where we’ll be staying for the next week and working out at the crèche.

Now for those of you who aren’t quite familiar, a crèche is basically just a fancy word for a Pre-K daycare facility, which is where we finally get to start some of the incredible volunteering work tomorrow.

After we arrived in St. Lucia, we all had lunch, took a quick break, and then walked the main drag of the town to see some of the more notable parts.

We then set off on a beautiful sunset cruise of the St. Lucia estuary, where we saw amazing African animals like Hippos, African Fish Eagles, Monitor Lizards, Pied King Fishers, Crocodiles, and even some snails that travel Mangrove trees in packs!

When we wrapped things up there as the sun set behind the estuary, we took some time to check out the local craft market before a dinner of Pap and Wurst.
