Horsing Around

After a weeks worth of work today we had to finally say goodbye to the two creches we have been working at.

Saying goodbye :(

Saying goodbye 🙁

We made our way into the creches on Saturday morning to finish varnishing the playground, the floor of the second creche, the water catchment foundation and the soup kitchen roof. Everyone got straight to it as we divided up the labour eager to finish our work.

Even though it was a Saturday, children from all around the community came by to help out and spend time with us for our last day there.

Just on lunchtime we managed to finish all our jobs, it is such a satisfying feeling to step back and look at all we have achieved as well as all the fun that has been had here at both sites over the past week.

After lunch we had the opportunity to go horse riding through iSimangaliso Wetland Park, for some this was their first time on a horse, others were far more experienced but one thing is for sure everyone had an amazing time out there. Not only is the scenery beautiful but there are wild animals who let you get right up close as they don’t view the horses to be a threat!
