Today was all about getting as many jobs done as possible as we look to try and finish the Soup Kitchen by the end of the week as well as a number of other projects. We were sanding down the playground to then apply a coat of Varnish, completing the foundation for a water catchment, laying a new floor in the Creche all while putting up the roofing of the soup kitchen.

It was great to have such variety in jobs that kept us busy at all times while achieving so much. Whether it be mixing concrete, moving wheelbarrows or teaching and playing with the kids everyone got involved without question.

As our different projects get closer to finishing the kids have become far more involved and are always looking for ways to help out, its amazing when you are feeling tired how much one of their smiles and effort picks you up.

At the end of the day we had achieved so much and now will be able to begin Tiling the soup kitchen roof tomorrow as well as finish our other projects. It was a very tiring day but extremely satisfying to see so much done.

At night we had a traditional Braii and lots of other delicious food and then were treated to some local Zulu dancing.

The dancers were highly entertaining and then got everyone involved by showing some traditional moves and getting the team to show their individual styles as well.

It was so much fun to get everyone involved and it was certainly an experience no one will be forgetting any time soon.

We finally finished up the night with a Zulu language lesson and then each received our very own Zulu name.

What a Day!
