Kosi Bay; what a wonderful place!

Today was a day to relax and unwind before a new program and some more hard work. The plan? Snorkelling down at the beach. The drive there itself was stunning as you will see from the photos. Rolling sand dunes, cows, fishing traps and so much more. We found our own little slice of paradise…



The final day and final touches

Sadly today was our last day in Mozambique. So we got up early (5am early) and the morning was spent working hard to make sure we finished as much as possible! And boy did we see results. The septic tank was finished off and the huge task or refilling in the sides with sand began….

Progress!

Today was definitely a productive day on site! We continued the building of the septic tank…which I must stress is much harder than it looks! The Mozambique sun is a harsh mistress 🙂 On today’s agenda was to paint the roof, continue plastering/rendering, moving a lot of cement bricks (HEAVY!) and building up the septic…



Rain rain go away, come again another day!

As the name of this blog suggest today was very and I mean VERY rainy. Unfortunately as our primary task was to make concrete and building out in the open, the rain severely hampered this. As we woke up very early, everyone was able to go back to bed and wake up later to see…

Well I am the first person to admit that my doubts were unwarranted…the group actually got up in time to head off to the school at 5:30am! Now the reason we decided to do this was because the earlier we started the earlier we finished and then were able to have more time to make…



Working hard or hardly working?

Definitely working hard! Today I got to see the work they had achieved already and I was definitely impressed! What a hole! If we weren’t making a septic tank we could have had a pool at the school 🙂 But it was straight back into work…to start with we continued to build the top part…
