Here are some of the amazing volunteers who will be on this program! (Don’t worry mom and dad if you don’t see your volunteer, they made is safely, they just wanted to shower first!)

Airport pick ups began at 8AM and our last volunteer was finally in bed by 1AM. Whew, talk about a long day’s worth of travel. Our amazing Tuk-Tuk (Cambodia’s version of a cab) driver Sam, who has the best smile in all of Cambodia, endured 9 different round trip drives to make sure that we all got to our hotel safely. Thank you Sam for being such an amazing sport!

But the traveling is not over. Tomorrow we are hopping on a bus to Siem Reap which will take only seven hours.

As everyone arrived we greeted each other, some of us even took turns going back to the airport with Cori to pick up the other volunteers. After days of traveling sometimes all you want is a few friendly faces to greet you or in our case an entire Reach Out parade. Even though we all hail from all over the world, United States, Canada, Scotland and Australia we all had one thing in common after traveling, a nice shower.

For dinner we stopped by Tom Yung’s were we tried traditional dishes like Amok along with different curries and stir fry. There were so many options to choose from, at least we get two weeks to try out the different dishes of Cambodian cuisine!

Tomorrow is a busy day. In the morning we will make a trip to the Killing Fields and then head up to Siem Reap. We are really excited for some good stretching in the hotel once we arrive to Siem Reap.

Mum, Dad, Grandparents, friends, and even neighborhood cats feel free to leave comments on the post. I will make sure that your volunteer gets the message. I hope that you all enjoy this journey with us! It is only two weeks, but that is plenty of time for it to be life changing.
