LAST BATH THE ELEPHANT

Today we were very excited because we had a fun full day ahead of us!
First thing we did was go pick some nice trees and plant them all over the beautiful gardens, it was a bit of hard work but everyone enjoyed having the opportunity the make this forest grow. While planting the trees Olivia did not see a grass covered hole meant to be for a tree so she fell all the way in, she made a beautiful looking tree though.
After lunch we collected orange cloths blessed by monks and explored the forest to wrap them around the trees. By wrapping these cloths around the trees it protects them against illegal loggers. In this culture it is believed that whoever cuts down a tree that has been blessed by monks will have bad luck for the rest of their lives. During this adventure Jaky fell down in a hole of mud and couldn’t get out, but it all had a happy ending!
We also followed Arun Rai the elephant to a dam and we all showered her with buckets of water. This turned into a water fight between boys and girls (girls won obviously 🙂
Then we cut some fruits to feed Kamlin, she was a pretty hungry elephant today, we couldn’t be fast enough!
It had been a constant battle between our group and another volunteer group to get to the food first, today we managed to win the battle! Boom boom 
To finish off this wonderful experience we are about to go off to enjoy a bonfire!
