Today we were working at a local school here by the sanctuary. We are building the foundation for a classroom and man oh man these volis worked their butts off today!!

We had an early morning and went straight to the work site where they had roped off a small square for the classroom, and with some shovels and hoes we started to dig! Everyone worked SO hard and 15 minutes in we were all covered in sweat!

We worked hard for three hours and then took a break for lunch which, of course, entailed us running around chasing all the kids and playing the human knot! We got all of the kids to play duck duck goose with us and after that they were the best helpers EVER!! What an amazing time the volunteers had experiencing how loving and kind these kids are! They also LOVED putting flowers in all the girls’ hair!

We finished the afternoon with preparing food for the elephants and feeding them… just like any other day I guess.

I am such a proud team leader today!! Everyone stayed so stoked and excited the whole day and it was so cool to see what we could accomplish in the building process!!
