WEEEEE AREEEE HEREEEEEEE

Hey guys, it’s me! (Elaura aka E Dawg aka The Fearless Leader). I will now be posting on this blog as we follow the teams adventures through the elephant sanctuary!

SO…

WE MADE IT TO THE ELEPHANT SANCTUARY WEEEEUUUUUU.

THIS.

IS THE MOMENT.

WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!!!

We got up bright and early this morning to hop on the bus over to the sanctuary. Everyone made sure they were stocked up on the necessities (Pringles, chocolate, popcorn) before heading into the Jungle Of Isolation.

Once there everyone was in absolute freaking awe. SO BEAUTIFUL. We really get to spend a whole week here?

We settled into our bungalows and then met for the most delicious vegetarian lunch ever, with fresh fruit and vegetables and noodles and just YUM YUM YUM. Everyone was excited to have a break from rice for a bit.

After lunch we got to do my all time favourite activity: cleaning the geese pond! We jumped right in and sunk our little toesies into the goosey poo and cleaned that place spick and span. Emptied out all the water with buckets, sang some songs and scrubbed those ponds like they’ve never been scrubbed before (clearly).

Afterwards 5 lucky volunteers got to throw on some work gloves and chop a bunch of grass for one of our elephants who is very old and wouldn’t be able to get it for herself in the jungle.

The rest of the group made yummy treats for the elephants, we chopped watermelons and bananas, and mushed pumpkins with a vitamin powder then rolled them into little mushy balls. A few people may have gotten a mushy pumpkin face mask as an added bonus.

THEN.

FINALLY.

the REAL moment we had all been waiting for…

HERE. COME. THE ELEPHAAAAAAANTS!

We all got to HAND FEED the elephants with our BARE HANDS and watch them suck it with their trunks and then mush all that mushy food straight into their big fat elephant mouths. So cool.

We played the human knot in the volley ball field after that, and there may have been some accidental fondling and far too many giggles and giggly tears. All in the name of team bonding though right?!

THEN the best part of the day was when all the girls got to see a bucket shower tutorial, and they’re now all experts on how to have a shower using only two buckets of water. This may have involved all of my clothes getting wet, and a slightly questionable video being made.

We had dinner which was FANTASTIC again, and then did some “warm fuzzies” where we wrote super cutezy things about how much we love eachother <3 everyone was POOPED so now we're off to BED! Shout out to Amy's mom who has been reading the blog every day, you tha real MVP! Below are some pictures from today and the last two days! image
