Hi there friends, family and loved ones.
Due to the weather out on the island, accessing the internet to upload the blog hasn’t been possible. We’ve just spoken with John the Team Leader, who reports all is well on the island, and the group is enjoying breakfast as we speak 🙂
Yesterday (Monday Dec 15th) the volunteers enjoyed two dives. The morning dive had poor visibility due to the weather, but this didn’t dampen their spirits… On returning from their dive, the group worked hard on the construction project, building the foundations for a water reservoir.
Luckily the afternoon brought with it better weather and diving conditions allowing for fantastic diving conditions- Yippee! 🙂 The group had the opportunity to tie coral to the reef pods, an important task to replenish the marine eco system.
Later that evening the group were joined by new addition to the team Rachel who will be spending the next three weeks on the island.
After breakfast this morning, the group will be getting stuck into work on the foundations for the water reservoir. The group is hopeful to finish the foundation today. This will be hard work, but we’re sure the group is up to it! 🙂
This afternoon’s dive will be a fun dive, checking out the reefs, and spending some time cleaning them up.
Stay tuned for more island adventures….
