Life’s peachy at the beachy

We’ve made it to the weekend!

today was one of the most hard-working days: we were able to start work on the water catchment, which was a lot more exhausting than the work we’ve done on our coral pods the past few days! We cleaned out the inside of the water catchment grids and applied a new layer of cement to the bottom of the inside perimeter… Mixing cement was actually so much fun! At least for me… But it wore us out, so we were SO excited for a break to enjoy snacks and chat and eat DINNER! (We worked up a huge appetite… :)) We tried to eat our dinner quickly so we could rush over and see the sunset- we missed the sun dipping behind the horizon, but the water and colors were still amazingly beautiful.

Today’s dive was my favorite so far- we practiced our buoyancy as we swam around underwater. I saw so much different coral and swishy fauna and underwater coolness at the bottom of the sea! My favorite was this spiky black thing with blue dots and a pretty white circle the top middle… but then Kylie told me that the white circle was its butt. The prettiest butt in the ocean!

To celebrate our hard work tonight, we’re enjoying a bonfire underneath the stars (which may or may not be hidden by more clouds). Time for good cheer and happy stories among friends!

cheers,

Shannon
