They have arrived!!!

Hello everyone!! My name is Danielle Galgoczy, and I’m from the great white north they call Canada!!! Vancouver to be exact! I’ll be team leading the Cambodian Island Marine Conservation Program for the next few weeks and I couldn’t be more excited!! I’ve been having a blast with ROV the last two years, and cannot wait to get back to work making a difference in communities that need it most!

It’s been a busy day of gathering our volunteers from the airport here in Phnom Penh. Many of the volunteers had the chance to ride in a tuk tuk for the first time ever! A thrilling yet eye opening experience to say the least. The few that arrived earlier in the day were able to check out the Killing Fields just outside of the city, while others took a much needed nap.

Tomorrow we’ll be waking up bright eyed and bushy tailed at the crack of dawn to board a bus to Sihanouk Ville, then a boat to Koh Rong Island!!! We’re all giddy with excitement to finally get there, so follow along on our journey through the blog, and don’t forget to comment and share the link on facebook with friends and family! Plenty more photos and stories to come from our days doing marine conservation and island beautification!

blog 1Our very first arrivals of the day, Cristian from Texas, and Kelly from Ontario!

Thanks for reading and see you on the island!
