It’s Casey again, coming to tell you all from a really awful internet connection that’s everything’s great here on the island.
We stepped off from our little hotel in Phnom Penh on Sunday, made our way to Sihanoukville, and jumped on the ferry with the locals to find our new home for the next two weeks.
After an incredibly smooth sail, we picked out our bungalows and sat down for a traditional Cambodian meal before playing cards and starting some of our dive training.
Yesterday we got to work on finishing the foundation of the 250,000 litre water reservoir for the village, finishing up our diving theory, and teaching at the school.
Today, weather kept us from diving like we wanted, but in better news, this is supposed to be the worst weather for the rest of the program!
The foundation is so close to being finished, and then we can get to working more extensively on laying the rest of the bricks and planting some new reef pods.
We’re finishing up the night by making a bonfire at what we call Coconut Bay, a true slice of paradise, and waking up to dive tomorrow morning for some great dives!
I’ll try to keep in touch as much as I can, but don’t be worried if you don’t hear from us again tomorrow; all is well in paradise! Here’s a few photos of what we’ve been up to!
