Travellin’ Travellers

Today we made the long (surprisingly long!) journey from our quiet island of Koh Rong to the bustle of Phnom Penh. We left early from the village by ferry and after a drowsy couple of hours on the water we arrived in Sihanoukville.

Loaded up in the ferry ready to leave our island home.

We grabbed a quick lunch of sandwiches at Holy Cow restaurant (bread!! Remember bread?!!) before getting on the bus to Phnom Penh. What a trip that turned out to be! We seemed to be on the slow bus, it took SIX hours to get back to PP and of course serenaded by Khmer karaoke videos the whole way. But we managed to reclaim the evening. We had a lovely dinner then got in some shopping at the night markets. Many presents were bought but I won’t ruin the surprises!

Brittney and Heather were ready for bed but the night owls Sarah, Megan and Britt went for a fabulous, pre-bedtime massage. All limbered up and sleeping in cool rooms I don’t think anyone will have trouble sleeping tonight, ready for a big journey home tomorrow.
