A busy day not at work!

Thursday 24th July 2014

Today was a day off from our work at the village. Instead of our usual early start and hard work we had a little sleep in (8am start, hurrah!) and spent the day exploring the ancient and beautiful Angkor temples. The most famous, Angkor Wat, is the largest religious monument in the world but is just one of the dozens of temples in the complex. If a picture tells a thousand words, here is an essay on our day at Angkor:

After a long day being hot and awestruck we had an early dinner a fantastic restaurant. Unfortunately a power cut put a stop to our plans of karaoke but the candles were a nice touch. We then went to Phare the Cambodian Circus. The circus was an amazing display of strength, agility and co-ordination by a group of students from Battambang province.

All in all it has been an excellent, action packed day. Tomorrow is our last day of the program and our last day in the village. It will be a bittersweet ending!
