Bless the rains down in…Cambodia!

Hi everyone!! Today was a very successful today for both teams! The break down is below šŸ™‚

BFOK:

We got a lot done at BFOK today. You know it’s a good day when your volunteers leave covered in dirt and paint haha! We had to continue moving soil throughout the morning to fill in the foundation. Then we put the entire structure up for the second toilet! This took a lot of sawing and nailing- skills several volunteers learned and honed today. We also painted the outside of the original bathroom and would’ve completed the inside too, had we not run out of paint in the last hour! We’ll have to take a trip to the store tomorrow šŸ™‚ When their forearms were jelly and they needed to rotate, a few volunteers ran reading circles and english lessons with the children at the school. Many learned how to write their names in Khmer! The kids really enjoy having something that they can teach us too:) This time spent connecting with the children is always very rewarding and special for everyone. Now that the structure is up, we can move on to putting up the walls and door, finish painting, and laying the rest of the foundation. A lot of concrete mixing is coming up!! As always, our last hour at BFOK was very eventful! This time because clouds rolled in and we were hit with about 30-40 minutes of HEAVY rain. All the volunteers ran around chasing chickens into the coop, piling tools under cover, and snuggling up with shivering puppies! It was the perfect cool down after a very hot and sweaty day!

Hi guys,
It was a second day of the work day. It is not different in the morning, everyone had breakfast and get on to Tuk Tuk to the school.
When we got at the school in the morning we spited to two different groups. The first group was moving bricks and mixing cement for building up fence and the second group was digging old pules out. They were working very hard for an hour and then we swopped the group over. They a very good work. Finally we finished digging pules out in the morning.
After we had a very good lunch with fried eggs and fried morning-glory we had a bit for relaxing. Some of them had a nap and some sharing with their person things and experiences. It always hot in the afternoon but we still enjoy our works. It was also the same this morning. They had the same persons in a group. The first group they continued mixing cement and build the fence up. The second group was putting new poles to every wholes. It was very very hot in the afternoon. We took a lot break time and swopped the group around. Everyone working really hard.
The end of a day some of us went to the classroom and teach them some English and song. We took lots of photos with those kids and also lots fun with them.
