Don’t go chasing waterfalls

But we did! We went chasing waterfalls today! It was a free day today and everyone sort of went in their own directions. Some stayed behind to finish up shopping and have a relaxing day at the pool, others who didn’t get a chance to go to the floating villages last weekend went there and the rest came with me to the waterfall! It was only about an hour and a half drive and we went up a mountain pass to find it. We walked a bit and saw a nice little natural sacred spring, the temple with a famous statue of sleeping buddha and even grabbed some deep fried bananas along the way. Once there, we all jumped into the water, which was extremely refreshing, and swam up closer to the falls itself. We had so much fun! It was absolutely stunning and a perfect way to spend the day. On the way back, we took some time to visit the Siem Reap killing fields to learn more about the effects of the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia. It certainly made an impact on us and have begun to understand how bad it was here during that period. However, it gives us a lot of purpose and meaning in being here and we couldn’t be happier to help. Although I don’t have pictures of the other groups from today, I was informed that they thoroughly enjoyed their days and are so looking forward to heading off to the elephant sanctuary tomorrow! Yay!!
