Our hardworking mid-year volunteers completed 5 new Cambodia village building projects. As soon as they were completed, families moved in, school classes started and the village made immediate use of the community shelter, setting up some stools and moving some critical agricultural equipment into safe storage – see following photo.
As July to September is rice planting time for the village there has been very little free time for home owners to continue improvements. However there have been a few additions and in particular with the last house built in July.
Let’s take you back to where it all began.
The completed house provided safe living quarters and immediate protection for the children from the rain.
Over the last couple of months an outside kitchen, an entrance ramp and window fixtures have all been added. It’s now looking really ‘homely’ and the family, along with Sophean the principal at the local school, say a big thank you.
